Have you read this series yet? 

It's a lot of fun & I LOVE all the guys & gals & their personalities! Plus the whole creation of a new family unit, really. I mean, a lot of these characters are old friends, if you're a longtime reader of this author. But you don't HAVE to be a longtime reader of this author to get the dynamics of the story & characters. 

Anyway, here's my review: 

Highly enjoyed Crockett & Zach's story! She has an abusive family, and he's the first to ever stand up for her (even though her Murphy does in his own way). I love the way they interact & how he encourages her dreams. I love the way she sees HIM and not the ex-con, not the doctor who made a morally debatable decision... 

I just really love them together! I also enjoyed seeing the guys & their gals together a bit, as always - this group is a lot of FUN! And they all have a penchant for doing their steamy business w/ other ppl around, so ... LOL That's not normally something I like in my characters, but the fact that the whole group just kinda jokes about it is FUNNY. 

Anyway, there's lots going on in the story, so give it a read! Read this whole series - it's fabulous & fun!

Fourth Down by Heidi McLaughlin

 Fourth Down is a fantastic, fairly light but still impactful read! 

My Review: 

Julius & Autumn's story is complicated. There's the initial animosity - fully on Julius's part for reasons you'll just need to read to find out. Then there's the grudging respect. Attraction. Devotion. Mistakes are made, some milestones traversed too soon. Heartache. 

But the overall story is full of hope, joy, friendships, healing, and of course love! I adore Julius's kids - Reggie & Roxy add a wonderful depth. The friendships between Julius & Noah and Autumn & Peyton brought a lot of enjoyment for me. I loved the peek into football & the weather! Yes, I said the weather! LOL 

Highly recommend this story & the warmth it will leave in your heart!

I've read some of the other books in this world, and the emotions are always spot on. I love the way things come together for these families, and this new series is going to be highly enjoyable, I think!

No Rep (Madd CrossFit Series) by Lani Lynn Vale

My Review:

I really like Fran & Taos & their story, but - and this is a totally expected issue considering the name and venue of the series - there is just tooooo much CrossFit action for a non-CrossFitter. Or, at least for this non-CrossFitter. ; ) 

CrossFit is more of a supporting character than I expected. And, like with other books where the characters are in this lifestyle, the constant complaining about CF while also saying how much they love it just ... gets on my nerves. It takes me out of the story because then I'm thinking, "Seriously, you hate it, it makes you puke, you can't move the next day but you go back & do it again & again, WHY AREN'T YOU DOING A PROGRAM YOU LOVE?" 

Anyway, that aside, I love the characters, the emotion, the relationship Fran has w/ Mavis & the relationship between Taos & his friends - and his gran. I would have liked more Grans in the story! There's also a great plot woven in w/ the serial killer angle. 

So, overall, this is an enjoyable story, and CF gurus will definitely recognize and enjoy the WODs & other inside things. Non CF gurus like me might find it a bit much, but I still say give it a chance because, again, enjoyable story! And I AM looking forward to the other books - next up is Mavis's book & I'm super intrigued!!

My Review:

Leif & Anna's story is swoony, friendshippy goodness. I love these characters - even with Anna's neurosis, and constant back & forth in her head, I still just adore her. I wasn't annoyed, I was understanding - and some of the things she came up with would normally have really annoyed me, so I give an extra thumbs up on the writing there. 

Leif is SWOONY! He is charming & fun & he has his own nightmares to deal with, but he never lets that bleed into his personality. He gives & accepts affection. When they get down to the steamy times, he is FIIIRE. And they're still playful, and their banter is on point. 

Absolutely enjoyed this so much!!

Wallflower by Jessica Prince - Happy Release Day!!

 Love it love it love it!!

This series makes me happy.

If not, I highly recommend binging the whole thing because it's really awesome!

My Review:

Stone & Willow's story is a bit of a roller coaster. She's super shy & flustered around him, her crush is well known (yes, even to him), and she has a whole bunch of stress going on in her life! She needs some friends, a stiff drink, and a hug! 

What she gets is ... well, really, she does end up w/ all of that. Plus the hot & cold act from Stone, which made me want to smack him. 

Even w/ the wanting to smack him thing, I DID like him. He has a rescue pupper, he's protective, and once he allows himself to open it, he has a really big heart! This story is sweet & frustrating, steamy (OMH once they get to that point - bring the fan!) & humorous. 

I love this town, I LOVE AURORA - I hope she continues to pop in & be hilarious because I adore her zany nicknames & complete disregard for societal norms. I want more of her! Also highly enjoyed another glimpse into our MC that will be getting their own stories... :D 

Thumbs up & I recommend this whole series (and Hope Valley)!!!
