Her stories always bring the emotions!

My Review

Wow.

This is a beautiful story! There are some hard, real-life pieces to these characters. I adore Jace & Harlow, and the friendship they almost accidentally build. As we share in their journey to falling in love, to healing, to safety, to light ... there were tears & humor, and so much HEART. I fell in love along with them!

Highly emotional read, & I'm so very thankful for these characters & the storylines!

And I'm leaving it there, bc some things are just to spoilery to share, & you need to experience them without expectations, I think.

Wild & Windy 6 Recap

 WW in Chicago is one of my favorite signings!

I've been to every one since the beginning & hope to continue attending. Michelle Mankin came on board, and they've expanded to now also have signings in Phoenix & Vegas, but I can't drive to those, so unless I become independently wealthy or acquire a sugar daddy specifically for signings... 🤣

Chicago it is!

The event takes place at the Westin O'Hare in Rosemont, and it is one of my favorite hotels, too. Mostly because after so many years, it feels like a home away from home!

This year, I was blessed to be an assistant to my friend Rochelle (Paige - she's amazing & I love her bunches & y'all should read her. She & Elle Christensen also write as Fiona Davenport, with fun, steamy, baby-makin' stories!). Her editor & friend, Jenny, & I split assistant duties & had a blast! 

Rochelle does this "Blind Date with a Book" thing that really took off. Day two of the signing, she was making them at the table bc they were selling so quickly! 💜

I had so much fun, seeing friends & meeting some of my favorite ppl for the first time in person. One of those ppl was Ana - she has a blog, Ana's Attic, and kicks butt! She also is the creator of Wicked Book Weekend, a signing I never got to attend before it ended, but it's still considered one of the best years later! 

Budgets being what they are, as well as space considerations, I tried to rein myself in & kept to about 25 books, mostly pre-orders I paid for before this weekend! 😁

I also got a couple books for my friends. 

There were also panels & parties & games & bookish vendors. An excellent weekend! 

And now, here are the amazing authors & book haul - as always, I did not get to see everyone, but I enjoyed seeing those friends I did!

My Review

We met the Carter family in Keene's book, in the Welcome to the Circus series. They've been through some tough times, but never lose their closeness as a family, and in Quincy & Hollis's story, we continue to see that bond.

The story starts out somewhat sad, with an emotional loss. That is partly what brings these two together, but their relationship doesn't have a pall over it. In fact, I loved the hilarity of Quincy & Hollis's relationship. He's keeping an eye on her to keep her "stalking" at bay, but in turn, becomes HER stalker! It's cute.

Hollis's family is ... not the best, and I love seeing her brought into the Carter fold. She & Quincy are connected in a few different ways they didn't know about, too, which was cool. There's a bit of a mystery going on with a couple of Quincy's cases that was interesting, too.

Just the right amount of steam & lots of good times & an enjoyable story. I'm gonna continue enjoying this family!

The Pucker Next Door by Sara Ney

 If you're looking for a zany, steamy, funny college romance, I've got a new release rec for ya!

My Review

This was a fun, quirky story! Brodie & Lizzy sort of stumble around, figuring out their relationship. They get some great, unexpected help from Brodie's roommate, Sully, and I really enjoyed their friendships with him.

I love the text banter throughout the story, too! They're just so CUTE together!

We get quite a bit of 🔥🌶🔥🌶, lots of 😄, & a good dose of ❤️❤️❤️. Plus... 🐿🐿🐿. Entertaining read!

Whisper by Cambria Hebert

 Welcome back to Westbrook, where the swimmers are Elite & the suspense keeps them on their toes! 

I love this series so very much! The fact that - like Cambria's Misfits series - the couples are both MF & MM makes me happy. The way the team is written, the way the couples and friendships are written - it all just ... makes me happy!!

My Review:

Oh, this Elite family! Swoon! Sometimes the least important thing is DNA when it comes to families. Elite proves that time & again.

I love the way Prism (aka Matthew, Matt, Matty, baby, princess...) is written. The things he shares and the way he shares them make me want to tacklehug him. Arsen is so very perfect for our air pod swimmer, too. He's the perfect blend of confident & vulnerable. He provides quality comfort!

This story has all the banter & zaniness we love, especially in the group text arena. 😄 Arsen fits right into those chats, with his laid-back replies. And of course there are emojis... 🍿🥞👽👊

We get quite a lot of 🌶🔥🌶🔥 with Matthew & Arsen, balanced with snuggles. Coach & the team's support of Prism as he comes out & shares more about himself is all kinds of 🩷🩷🩷. The representation of anxiety & Prism's brain, the acceptance & support, the LOVE is beautiful.

And the trauma lattes get a workout! Yup, suspense & drama going on up in here, too.

Excellent, enjoyable story that made me fall even more in love with Elite, the bros, and this series as a whole.

Dr Single Dad by Louise Bay

 I'd not read this author before, I don't think. But when the opportunity arose to read this story, I jumped at it because the blurb pulled me right in! 

I was not disappointed. 

This story delivers!

My Review:

Dax & Eira have quite a fun story!

I didn't really like Dax's attitude in the beginning. He's not a jerk or anything, just very self-involved. He comes from a big, gregarious family, and he loves them & knows he's loved, but he doesn't really make an effort to get to KNOW them.

And then he finds out he's a dad. And his self-involvement goes up a notch for a bit. He thinks of Guinevere as something to mark on his checklist. He seriously needs a kick in the pants!

Happily, that kick comes knocking on his door in the form of Eira. She's bright & caring & full of life - even when life has tried to drag her down, her heart remains full of love & caring.

I adore the way they end up together, the bonds they each have with their families. And I LOVE how Eira gently nudges & guides Dax into growth. He bonds with Guinevere, his eyes are opened to different perspectives & he gets to really bond with his family. His heart opens up & allows feelings for Eira in, too.

Such a sweet (with 🔥🌶🔥🌶) story!

This one read really great as a stand alone, but I definitely think the other stories would be fun, too. The brothers are all fun in this one! 😁

The Fool by Lani Lynn Vale

 Ahhh!

I can't believe we're at the end of this series. It's been such an amazing ride, and I love this family! They all have to go through some tough things throughout the series, but the support & love they give each other while welcoming new family members is heartwarming. 

My Review 

This series is one of my favorites from this author, & Keene and Ande's story is the perfect wrap up. We get time with all his sisters, to catch up with them, their men, their kids... And we also get to know Ande's family more, which is great since her brothers will be getting their own series... 😉 AND!!! There are some fun cameos...

I love the way Ande & Keene discover connections throughout the story & how they click together right away. They're fun with lots of 🔥🔥🔥, and there's emotional stuff going on that might also necessitate tissues. A perfect balance of all the things!

I enjoyed this story a lot & am so happy this series exists!
