The Path To Us by Jennifer Van Wyk

Today, I share with you an amazing, emotional, beautiful story about a single mom, her precocious & sassy daughter, and the family that's always by their sides.

My Review:

Beau & Addy are meant to be - and everyone knows it, but them! Their story has some heartache & healing to be done, but even with some heavy subject matter, their story is full of smiles & feel good moments. I love the pacing - we get some glimpses into the past, as their history is a large part of their story, but the past doesn't overwhelm the present or their future. There are some wonderful supporting characters (including some creatively named pets, adorable!!) & a chance to reconnect with an old friend.

It's a slow burn, but when these two ignite... *fans self* HOT!

And of course, there is Zoey, who does a great job in stealing scenes & hearts. Fantastic!!

I've been obsessed w/ JVW's writing since the first book I picked up, and pretty much devour every word. She has a unique way of writing angst that I don't really find angsty (angsty annoys me, so this is a good thing)! I feel the emotions without wanting to chuck my kindle halfway across the room.

Dishing Up Love by KD Robicheaux - Top Recommendation!

You know how there are stories you've been looking forward to for a while, but you don't even realize how much you want them until you start reading?

That's Erin & Curtis.

My Review:

What a DELICIOUS story!! Curtis & Erin are amazing characters & their meet cute is SUPER CUTE! I love their banter, their chemistry, their ... everything! I seriously loved everything about this story. Not only do we get an adorable & fun couple, we get a decadent tour of New Orleans, a beautiful friendship between Erin & Emmy (and if you're a No Trespassing fan, you'll enjoy catching up w/ that couple), a depth of emotion that's artfully choreographed, and an HEA that will make you swoon.

SWOON! : )

My Review:

Leo & Danika grew up across the street from each other, but Leo didn't really know that. Danika had a huge crush on him, & was painfully shy, so their interactions could be counted on one hand, really. Despite this, and him moving away to start a life w/ his HS girlfriend, Dani never really let go of the hope of falling in love.

Still, when he makes a move after his divorce, she doesn't quite believe it. This made for quite an amusing, laugh out loud scene where he has to spell it out for her. Once he does that, their relationship heats up pretty quickly!

Whew, Leo & Danika steamed up the pages!

They don't go public w/ their relationship right away because he has two kids, who she has interactions with (and I love love love Dani's relationship w/ his kids!!), and his ex-wife is a .... well, she's unpleasant. This causes some issues... I may have wanted to smack Leo HARD a couple of times & he would have deserved it!

Still, I liked the pacing & I loved the groveling & I absolutely fell in love w/ Danika, Leo, & his kiddos! This was a super quick, fabulous read!  I love this series!!!  : )

Drowning by Hope Jones

Today, Hope Jones has a new release!
It's emotional & heartbreaking & satisfying!

My Review:

Whew!! Cam & CeCe have a very emotional story. I had a little trouble connecting w/ Cecelia at first, which I think is because she's struggling w/ her own connections. Her reasons for divorcing Cam are heartbreaking, and when they're thrown back together, their initial meeting doesn't go well at all. They have some struggles!!

I loved their hearts. The way they never lost their love for one another in all the years they were apart. I love their friendships w/ supporting characters, and the way those friends encourage them in their path back to one another. And the Epilogue? REALLY loved that!!! : )
