Champion by Michelle Mankin

Michelle Mankin writes SPICY and emotional stories.

Her writing style is beautiful, and I've been a fan for ages.

I've also been blessed to meet her & get to know her personality, which is just the sweetest rock chick vibe. She's awesome! : )

So, her new release is different than her rocker/surfer stories, in that the main character is a football player, but the vibes with Champion & Electra & the extended group of characters are spot on with her normal style. Highly recommend!

I'm going to use the cover reveal graphic below because it shows both covers & both covers are super neat!

My Review:

Champion & Electra are a fabulous couple! I love the way they are each other's light, the way they heal each other. Champion isn't used to having to chase someone down to be with him, but Electra gives him a run for his money! 😁 She's different in a lot of ways, which makes her perfect for him.

These two are sweet together, but also be ready for the πŸ”₯🌢πŸ”₯🌢πŸ”₯🌢πŸ”₯🌢 because this author brings the STEAM with her couples, and these two have quite a bit of steamy page time. Whew!

That part's not my favorite, but the emotional connection, the surprises, the friendships, the Easter eggs & cameos, the communication... all are amazingly written and made this a highly enjoyable read. Loved it!!!

😍😍😍

Temptress by Jessica Prince

I highly enjoy Jessica Prince in general, the Whiskey Dolls series overall, and Temptress quite a lot!

This was such a fantastic read!

My Review:

Wow!! Sloane & Silas are πŸ’”πŸŒΆπŸ”₯🌢πŸ”₯πŸ’”❤️❤️❤️❤️🌢πŸ”₯🌢πŸ”₯! So, tissues, a fan, some snacks... I suggest reading with these things close by. πŸ˜‰

I love Sloane to bits! Silas ... I wanted to hug him, then smack him, then hug him. His heart has been bruised in a different kind of way, and his love for his daughter is so deep, he lets it blind him to LIFE. Sloane is such a delight as she helps him rediscover that life. Or, how living feels, is a better description, maybe.

Darcy & Kim are awesome. I love the co-parenting relationship Silas & Kim have. And how Sloane is able to bond with Darcy. That whole portion is sweet!

This whole story is a delight to read, and I devoured it!

😍😍😍

Fun House by Lani Lynn Vale

It's time for a brand new Lani Lynn Vale!!

Y'all know I have been excited about this new series, and book 1 exceeded all my expectations!

My Review:

This story is AWESOME!!! I loved Simi & Coffey from beginning to end! We get to know the Singh family more, Folsom pops her head in a time or two, new & old friends make an appearance... and the relationships are everything I love about an LLV story.

Coffey is swoony, BA goodness. Simi is quirky and lovely, and I enjoyed her personality so much!

We get humor and steam, banter and suspense.

Until Lydia by E.M. Shue

I have to start this one off with an apology!

This post was supposed to be up a couple weeks ago, I think, but life has been a little flarey lately (my hip, for those not in the know) & it did a number on my ability to keep things straight. The reading part was easy! The posting on social was easy! Sitting down to put the blog posts together... Whoops.

SO!

Moving on...

Until Lydia by E.M. Shue is part of the BOOM! Part of Aurora Rose Reynolds's HEA books world, and an all around fun read.

My Review:

Maverick & Lydia's story is a pretty quick read. Good use of cameos by Asher & November! There are a lot of cameos from, I'm assuming, characters from other books/series by this author. Lots of connections, which will make fans of those stories really happy! I felt a bit lost or overwhelmed with all the new-to-me characters & interactions, however.

Still, I enjoyed the story & our main couple. They're a slow burn out of necessity, and I love the care & relationship "Rick" builds with Lydia's twins! Super sweet! And he's definitely protective, as well. There's a big suspense element!

Wildcard by Cambria Hebert

I am soooo in love with this series, y'all!

Westbrook Elite just has all the happy vibes - while still being an angsty, suspenseful, college sports series. I mean, putting all of this together takes TALENT, and Cambria Hebert has that in spades!

My Review:

Jason Rush & Landry Resch. I don't have a favorite couple in this series - each & every one of them are so stuck in my heart, I couldn't choose. But Landry & her Jay definitely gave me a "rush" of emotions! 😁

There was heartache for Rush's pain. Wonder at the instant connection he & Landry have. Joy at the intensity of their love, and even more joy at the growing relationships within Elite. Their story is about their romance, but it's so well balanced with the friendships that it made me - once again - want to be one of the bros in this family! Because every book in this series reinforces the bonds that I love with this group.

The romantic suspense is twisty & great; the steam is 🌢πŸ”₯🌢πŸ”₯🌢πŸ”₯. You will likely want some water or a fan pointed at you. I skipped a lot of that as usual, but the bits I read point toward good things for my spice lovers!! πŸ˜‰ And the BANTER is off the charts! THAT is my favorite. These characters play off each other so well!

I love Landry's relationship with her dad, and getting to know Coach more. He needs an HEA of his own...😎 I admire her strength, trust, and loyalty. Rush calls her his siren, and the way he explains what he means by that, is beautiful. I love his friendship with Lars, so, so much!

Anyway, if I write all the things I love, not only will there be spoilers, but I'd likely have my own novel-length tale here, so I'll just end with this - I LOVE THIS STORY!!

😍😍😍😍😍

Have you picked up this series?

Maybe the Misfits series, which is also awesome?

Maybe her Gearshark or #Hashtag series?

One of her stand alone stories?

EVERYTHING I've read from her - starting with the series that made me fall in love with her writing, Take It Off - has been golden. I cannot recommend her books enough.

Let me know what YOU think!

Second Down Darling by Lex Martin

Happy new release! This story is a great addition to this single dad series. I love Jake & Charlie & their friendship.

My review:

Oh my goodness, Jake & Charlotte are fabulous! Just the way they love each other (after Jake pulls his head outta his hindquarters!) is swoony. I adore Asher! He steals some scenes, the cutie.

Also stealing scenes - again - BILLY! Good gravy, his book is next & I really hope he is as genuine & playful on the path to his HEA as he's been helping everyone else to theirs. I want to see him successfully balance the depth I know is in his heart with his goofy antics.

We also get some great Roxy moments. I love her & Charlie's friendship. I love that Charlie finds her tribe here. And a pupper. 🧑🧑🧑

Now, back to Jake & Charlie. They have to battle some pretty heavy things, but I really felt like they did it well, for the most part. They do have a brief SO (seemingly obligatory) not-quite-breakup that made me wrinkle my nose at both of them, but it was understandable.

I adored the story, tho!!

😍😍😍

Have you read this series yet? I'd love to hear what you think!

Cole by C.E. Johnson

I have loved every single book by C.E. Johnson!

From the moment I read Watch Me Drown on the recommendation of Susan Stoker, I've been hooked.

Her latest release, Cole, is the last book in her current series, and it did not disappoint!

My Review:

Ahhh, finally! Cole & Steph have been friends for as long as they can remember. And they've been in love with each other for ages. Of course, they have hurdles to get through because of Cole's past, his friendship with Jaxon, and neither of them wanting to rock the friend-group dynamic!

I love their closeness & banter, the special things that are just "theirs" outside of the larger group. I love Cole's attention to, understanding of, and sincere friendship with Levi. I love the co-parenting relationship depicted with Isaac & Tori for Levi. And I ADORE the mischievous Freddy!!! 🀣

This was a great finale to the series, and we miiight get a peek into the next connected series. 🧑 There's suspense & steam & humor (Zayn! Lololol) & LOVE!!

😍😍😍😍
