The Final Play by Amie Knight (Cover Reveal)

Color me excited! Amie writes beautiful stories, and I'm looking forward to this one a lot!

I LOVE The Red Zone & The First Score, the first two books in this series.

: )

As a professional linebacker, I lived and breathed football.

The only thing I loved as much as the game was my twin brother, Max, who kept me

almost as busy cleaning up his messes.

The most recent of which landed him behind bars.

So, it shouldn’t have surprised me when a beautiful woman showed up on my doorstep,

claiming to be pregnant with Max’s baby.

Glory was unexpected, infuriating, and flat-out crazy most of the time.

But no matter how hard I tried to deny it, that tiny spitfire slammed into my boring life with

the strength of a Category 5 hurricane, blowing through my defenses until she’d carved her

name in my heart—permanently.

I feared we would never work. She was a single mom, my brother’s ex, and one more

chance for me to fail yet another person I loved.

But if football was my church, then Glory was my heaven.

Rushed by Aurora Rose Reynolds

Another favorite author, Aurora Rose Reynolds, has a new release today!

I was blessed & she sent me an early box w/ a paperback & all sorts of cute tie-ins!

My Review:

Cybil & Tanner's story is FANTABULOUS! I love love love their chemistry & banter, and the way they interact with their friends/family/other campers in this story. It's full of heart & hope & just the right amount of steam. There's adventure & self-discovery in there, too!

I love this author's story telling, I love the low levels of relationship angst - the drama & suspense comes from outside the relationship for the most part, and that's what makes this a fantastic recovery read. The anticipation is still there w/o any eye-rolling drama.

Thumbs up & a 2021 favorite!!

: )

Have you read any ARR?

All of her stories are great reads, so I highly recommend picking up one of her stories - and why not start with this one? ; )

Or, you could go all the way back to her first book, which is where I started. Until November caught my eye because I'd never seen a heroine w/ that name before. FELL HARD for the story & have devoured everything she's written since.

Dream Keeper by Kristen Ashley

I love this series! Kristen Ashley is one of my favorite authors, and this series has been such a fun one to read! It's a mash up of the Dream Man & Rock Chick series, with lots of crossing characters to catch up with. And the vibe is very zany, while still being emotional, ya know?

My Review:

10++ stars! Auggie & Pepper's story has been brewing throughout the series, with Pepper being STUBBORN and wasting time. And, okay, she had a really good reason at first, and then a somewhat good reason, but then, after a bit, it was just her being stubborn.

Anyway, that part of her personality might have annoyed me. LOL

But overall, this story was FANTASTIC & I highly enjoyed it (thus the extra stars)!! Auggie is amazing, and I love getting inside his head. We also get some Juno POV, which added an extra level of depth to the story's awesomeness. We DEFINITELY get to see Brett (aka Cisco) & his role is a little different in this one, but still pulled at my heartstrings & made me hope he somehow, someway, gets his own HEA.

There is a huge family theme here, and the various ways they can be messed up or mess you up, but also the role love plays in all of that. Excellent theme! And I loved the way both Auggie & Pepper's situations shook out.

Prepare for laughter, tears (both happy & sad), steamy goodness, and a feeling of anticipation for what's coming next!!

Knockout by Jessica Prince

 Bring on more Whiskey Dolls!

Knockout is quite the enjoyable story, even if it started out w/ things I didn't enjoy in the character interactions.

Have you read Jessica Prince? Her small-town stories overall make me happy happy!!

My Review:

Ah, Jude & Layla! They start out quite antagonistic, which is not really my jam. I don't like when characters are mean to each other, so the beginning of the story was tough for me. Wonderfully written, of course, and some of the pranks these two pull on each other are hilarious! But I still wasn't a fan of that part of their relationship.

Then, they get tossed together & have to actually get to know each other & although there is still the "arguing/fighting" aspect to their relationship, it matures somewhat... and gets easier for me to enjoy the story. And enjoy it, I did! I love Layla's volunteering at Hope House & her relationships w/ the kids there! Especially Marcus, the bond is just super sweet & big sister.

And Jude! He has that grumpy thing going, but ALSO his heart is so big!!! And his Gram is HILARIOUS!

So, as I said, I enjoyed the story. We get sweet & STEAM & humor & heart, and I love those kinds of stories!

 I love this series!!

Happy Release Day!!

(And, you may notice, I have a couple blog posts because this is a fantastic release day!)

This cover is beautiful, but then, all the covers in this series are so gorgeous. I have started a paperback collection of them because of that. The Wrecked series, as well. Okay, I just love covers & am slightly obsessed, I admit!! ; )

My Review:

Excellent story!! Mason & Anna have such a beautiful, hard-fought love. They have trust issues to work through, & their journey is quite emotional as they navigate everything that's going on.

Anna's niece & nephew play a huge part in the story as well, and we get to see more of the deep friendships formed by the Sutter Lake couples.

Love this book, this series, bunches, & I'm sorry this is the last book. But this was a wonderful story to end the series on!!

😍😍😍

Let me know if you read the series & what you think!

Shakedown by Lani Lynn Vale

 Oh, this series!

Yes, I've been gushing about it all year.

Yes, it's a favorite.

Have you read it yet?

Bruno's book is here & does a great job of wrapping some things up! : )

My Review:

Belle & Bruno have some unique quirks that make them so incredibly perfect for each other! I'm so glad they were paired up. The conversations they have aren't exactly bantery, per se, but they're still fun to read!

I loved the progression of the series storyline, the way some things played out. Others didn't really resonate with me, & I was disappointed in part of some things that happened in relation to Bruno's farm. Possibly bc I'd just read another story with some "darker" aspects in the name of justice, but a couple parts just were too ... Ick ... for me. Great plotting, tho!

Overall, I love this series & characters & the way most things play out!

Beyond the Game by Kaylee Ryan

Do you love the game of baseball?

I have so many fond memories of the ballpark - both our local park and the bigger parks in Chicago & St Louis. I'm one of those rare gems who roots for both the Cubbies AND the Cardinals, because I grew up going to games in both cities. : )

Along with that, I love when baseball romance gives us game time along w/ the couple time, and this series delivers that - just enough!!

My Review:

I was quite excited to see one of my favorite stories was going to be a series! And Paisley is perfect for the follow up book. I LOVE Cam as her HEA. He does remind me of Easton, but in his own unique way.

His heart is so full of love & confidence! I adore his banter, his intentions, his work ethic... Paisley has her own feistiness throughout their relationship, & I adored her, too, other than ONE LITTLE THING when she... Well. Let's just say she initiates and puts into motion something she shouldn't have & it annoyed me.

Anyway, other than that, this was an excellent & enjoyable read! I'm already looking forward to reading more from this family.

Devante by Laramie Briscoe

Good Morning! (or Good Afternoon or Evening LOL)

So, Laramie Briscoe has been a favorite of mine for a while. I love the emotions & character development in her stories! (I got to meet her at a signing once & I think I was so nervous, I'm not even sure I conveyed how much I love her books! LOL)

My Review of the first book in the LSERT series:

Normally I don't like when the H/h are hiding their relationship because I think it's silly to do so. I still thought it was silly to do so (as did their parents when they found out) but the author did a good job of describing why Ransom & Stella both felt it was the right thing to do, so it didn't annoy me as much.

I highly enjoyed their story & how everything played out. Also, Ransom's K9, Rambo, is a scene stealing pupper! Not only was there mad chemistry between Ransom & Stella, but she loved Rambo as much as he did, and she made a point to think of him in their relationship, too. It was very sweet!!

: )

She has a new release this week & if you haven't read earlier books in this series, they're quick reads & good for binging ... Just sayin'! ; )

Beast by Cambria Hebert - Cover Reveal

 Y'all!

Y'ALL!!!

So. I am not a fan of artsy covers.

The new trend for cartoon-y covers makes my head ache & while some of them are cute/pretty/whatever, I skip over them 90% of the time.

Enter Cambria Hebert's House of Misfits series, beginning w/ Ivory White.

The covers are artistic drawings & they are AMAZING!

And the stories? I'm in love.

IN. LOVE.

This series is a top 2021 recommendation & I will be collecting the whole series in paperback.

Are you ready for the synopsis?

A tale as old as time…

A charismatic man cannot see beyond his own
brilliant reflection, never learning that true beauty lies within.
His selfish behavior draws the ire of a witch with enchantment on her wicked tongue.
A fiery curse is unleashed, engulfing the self-centered man’s entire existence.
When at last the flames are extinguished,
he gazes upon his reflection to discover he is no longer breathtakingly handsome
but condemned with scorched flesh and twisted scars.
He is no longer a man at all… but a beast.
While the ferocious beast rages, alienating everyone far and wide,
a woman whose beauty is far more than skin-deep
dwells in a world much simpler than his.

The beauty’s quiet life is disrupted when she is ambushed, threatened,
and boldly steps in the path of her father’s debt.
However, it’s not the thugs on her tail or the roaring beast
testing her patience that threatens to be this sassy beauty’s downfall.
It’s the way her heart flutters whenever he is near.

But some curses just can’t be broken, and really…
How can she truly ever love a beast?

*Beast is book 4 in the House of Misfits series but it could be read as a standalone. There are mentions of the previous books & plots and the characters from the first three books do make appearances in Beast.

What do you think?

This is coming out soon, but you have time to grab up Ivory White, Prince, and Huntsman before Beast releases!

Chalk Dirty To Me by Lani Lynn Vale

It's time for another LLV release!!

Haaapppyyyy Carrie!

I hope you're happy, too!

My Review:

Love the connection Cannel & Will have! She's been through such a traumatic experience that she still has PTSD. However, she immediately feels safe w/ Will, and he immediately feels protective. They don't instantly fall into each other or anything - but when they see each other again, they take advantage of their feelings.

This story is emotional and steamy. There's definitely humor in there, too! Will's nieces are a riot! There is some suspense, of course, and some of that I didn't really "get." Like, there were some character things going on that just didn't fully jive with me. Some of those things are setting up for the new MC series coming next year, so they didn't bother me-bother me, ya know? I like stuff like that!

Over all, this gets a thumbs up & I'm really looking forward to the new MC series featuring Cannel's brothers!

Never Really Over by Jennifer Van Wyk

This is an emotional, kinda angsty, beautiful story!

Happy Release Day!!

My Review:

Colt & Layla's story is one of grief, healing, forgiveness, and of course, love! They have issues from the past to work through, & it takes some time. The first half of the story we don't see a lot of them "together." This kind of thing is normally an annoyance for me in stories, but the way it's written, I was invested rather than annoyed, so good job there!!

Poppy is the cutest scene stealer there is! BUT! There is also a surprising scene stealer who, throughout the story, made me laugh and also want them for a friend! I love this surprising character redemption!!!

Beautiful, enjoyable story & I highly recommend grabbing it for a read!

I highly recommend all of this author's stories, because they always leave me with an overall feeling of happiness and joy. I'm ALWAYS happy I've read a story by her.

Plus - she's an Iowa farm girl & lives in one of the most beautiful & historic Iowa towns & I just love that a lot for some reason! : )
